Cultivating Literacy in Science

Description:

In this session, participants will learn about the differences between content and disciplinary literacy. Participants will also engage with vocabulary and comprehension strategies that can be used in the classroom to build their students' comprehension in science. 

Objectives:

• Define literacy and identify the different types of literacy.
• Examine vocabulary strategies.
• Engage with comprehension strategies in a science classroom.
