Project Overview - Buse Education Services will provide content area specialist to provide training for the Teach Smart Prevent Program specifically designed to meet the requirements of the MDE’s Restraint and Seclusion policy that includes, but is not limited to the content listed below:

· Professionalism

· Personal responsibility for ensuring school safety

· Intervention and de-escalation strategies for crisis events

· The three circles of rapport to promote school safety.

· Nonphysical Intervention

· Eight steps in resolving conflict

· Five key steps in survival in violent crisis situations

· Basic fight separation techniques

· Basic standing balance restraints

· Hand and limb restraints

· How to safely move and restrain an offender=
