Professional Growth System Combined Rubric Training 2023-2024
The purpose of this training is to familiarize educator observers with objectives, procedures, and resources available for the Professional Growth System. Upon completion, participants will receive certification of attending an MDE-approved training as outlined in the Mississippi Public School Accountability Standards.
Participants who complete this training will:
- Understand the objectives and procedures of the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) Professional Growth System (PGS)
- Collect and categorize effective evidence to support the PGS system rubrics
- Develop and practice coaching and conferencing skills to meaningfully support educators.

| Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 | Eligible attendees for this training includes teachers, counselors, and administrators who are employed by a school district or MDE. Unless specifically noted otherwise, external contractors or vendors may not attend. This event is being funded with state and/or federal funds and is being provided for employees of school districts, employees of the Mississippi Department of Education and Department contractors. Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 prohibits governing authorities from making donations. According to the Mississippi Attorney General, once the federal funds are turned over to the state, the rules for the expenditure of state funds apply. Based on the Mississippi law, this event is not being provided for third party vendors or external providers. |
