Decoding the DNA of Science Standards

This training familiarizes participants with the MS CCRS for Science b highlighting the three dimensions of science learning. Participants will decode the MS CCRS for science and objectives, identify core ideas, and develop driving questions for intentional planning.

• Describe the structure of the MS CCRS or Science and identify the three dimensions of science learning.
• Examine the big ideas for a set of performance objectives and standards.
• Use tenets of backward design to develop driving questions to help plan a lesson or unit.
