Day 1-January 19Utilizing Data to Improve Student Learning Outcomes and School Accountability Assignments

Data permeates the daily decision-making of school and district leaders.  The collection, analysis and disaggregation of data is the basis for methodologies of instruction at school sites.  As data sets are better understood by school leaders, relevant decisions can be made to improve student achievement and federal/state accountability assignments.  This module will provide school leaders with a stronger understanding of student achievement data, the utilization of data to increase student outcomes, and the implications of data in conjunction with both state and federal accountability assignments.

Day 2- January 20- The Mississippi Public School Accreditation Standards

The Commission of School Accreditation, acting on behalf of the MS State Board of Education, determines the annual accreditation status of all school districts in the Fall of each academic year.  The status of each district and its member schools is verified by compliance with pre-set policies and process standards in an effort to improve schools.  Collectively, these policies and standards are referred to as The Mississippi Public Accreditation Accountability Standards.  This module will provide an overview of the process standards by which school districts are held accountable, how the standards affect local protocol and policy, and provide a generalized application of each.
